India outclassed China 9-0 to stay in the hunt for the top spot in the round-robin league competition of the fourth Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament here on Tuesday.
Highlights of the Match:
- Team India took the lead 1-0 in the 9th minute through Akashdeep
- First half - India was comfortably ahead of China with a 4-0 lead
- At the break India led 4-0 and could have been a bigger margin but for Rupinder’s penalty corner conversion being disallowed on review by China.
- India meets Malaysia in the final league match
Yousuf Affan, Jasjit Singh Kumar & Akashdeep Singh scored 2 goals each as India comfortably crossed the Chinese defence. The Indians were looking to equal their 10-goal feat against Japan in this tournament when the hooter ended the contest.
India takes on the hosts Malaysia on Wednesday Oct 26, 2016 as both the teams are in contention for the top spot. Malaysia have 9 points from 3 continuous victories.
