Yogi Adityanath was born as Ajay Singh Bisht on 5 June 1972 in Panchur, Uttarakhand. He completed his bachelor's degree in Mathematics. At the age of 22, he renounced his worldly life and came under the mentorship of Mahant Avaidyanath, the chief priest of Gorakhnath Math. He succeeded Avaidyanath as the Mahant of Gorakhnath Peeth in 2014.
Yogi Adityanath began his parliamentary career in 1998. At just 26 years old, he was elected as the youngest Member of Parliament (MP) to the 12th Lok Sabha from Gorakhpur. He went on to win the Gorakhpur seat for five consecutive terms (1998, 1999, 2004, 2009, and 2014).
-He was appointed the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on 19 March 2017. After leading the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to another landslide victory, he was sworn in for a consecutive second term on 25 March 2022.
In July 2025, Yogi Adityanath set a monumental political milestone by becoming the longest-serving continuous Chief Minister in the history of Uttar Pradesh. He surpassed the record of 8 years and 127 days previously held by the state's first Chief Minister, Govind Ballabh Pant. Under his tenure, the state focused heavily on infrastructure, law and order, and industrial growth.
