Good COMPANIONSHIP
To keep the company of good people is ideal for all. By good people we mean the persons who adopt the path of truth and follow the path shown by saints. In good company a person gains in his life, feels the divinity and all his worldly desires and evil instincts die. A sense of spiritualism rises and the person gains peace and happiness. Mankind cannot live alone; every individual must live and interact with others, and when interacting with others one either influences or is himself influenced. Friendship and companionship are selected by human beings according to their will, which is totally different from relatives or kinship.
Many poets had written on good companionship in their poems and songs. Goswami Tulsidas has said,”You cannot have the knowledge of good and bad without good companionship.” Without this knowledge a man wonders in the darkness and losses the true path. Even the devils can become good in good company.
What are the conditions one should exist in selecting a friend of companioning?
Mindfulness (An reasonable enemy is better than a stupid friend).
Truthfulness (do not become the companion of a liar as he is like a mirage that brings closer what is far away and keeps away what is nearer to you).
Well Mannered (Be a companion of the one who believes your saying and will instruct you if you attempted something and will prefer your side on disputing over an evil thing).
Bad peoples are like coal. When it is cold it leaves black impression and when it is hot, it burns. Sit with good persons, Stay with them, Make them friends and you may argue also with them but you don’t have anything to do with them. Good company makes one happy as in the company of Lord Krishna; a small army of the Pandavas became victorious over a long army of Kaurvas. So, we should make good friends and always stay in good company.
