Reliance Jio has started the pre-booking for its 'Free' (so to say) Jio 4G VoLTE mobile phone on August 24, 2017. Delivery of handsets will start from September 1, 2017. Booking your VoLTE phone with Reliance Jio is very easy. All you need to do is send the following SMS to Reliance Jio.

Send an SMS in this format: JP < > STORE PINCODE < >STORECODE

For instance, if the pin code of the Reliance Digital Gallery closest to your place is 400604 and its store code is 8909 then you need to send the following SMS: In the above case, you need to send the following SMS: JP 400604 8909

SMS must be sent to this number: 7021170211

Send this SMS to Reliance Jio (Enter the zip code and store code of Reliance Digital Showroom near you)

Once you send the SMS, you will receive an SMS with further instructions to get the phone. You can get only one unit per Aadhaar number across the country. Though the effective price of the phone is Rs 0, you will have to pay a refundable security deposit of Rs 1500 when you finally go to pick up the phone.

If booked in a store, customer can pay by cash or card. If booked online, or through the MyJio App, there will be a cash on delivery option available if you choose the home delivery option.

Reliance Jio plans start at Rs. 153 per month but may change.

Note: Whatsapp will not work on this reliance phone. Customers can use the Jio Chat application instead.
